The [Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)](http://asc.wustl.edu/) and the [Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM)](http://dcminfo.wustl.edu/) coordinate to provide communication, education, and training for researchers, staff, and new IACUC members and to assure that research involving animals is in compliance with Federal regulations and University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. **Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)** Federal regulations require the review of all projects (research, teaching, or other) involving the use of vertebrate animals by an [Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)](http://asc.wustl.edu/). The IACUC oversees and evaluates animal care and use programs, procedures, and facilities at Washington University, including certification and protocol approval. **Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM)** The [Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM)](http://dcminfo.wustl.edu/) is responsible for providing animal husbandry, veterinary care, provisioning of animal care education, and professional, facilities and veterinary technical support for all animal research projects.
